Meet Copilot4DevOps V6, built to deliver faster AI responses, smarter file handling across key functions, and high-quality context-aware output. It is designed to keep your DevOps work flowing with fewer delays and better results at every step.

The Big Reveal: What’s Updated in Copilot4DevOps V6?

Feature/Enhancement Description
Enhanced File Uploads Upload files in Mockup, Diagram, and SOP/Document Generator. Uploaded files will be part of the AI’s context, and it will generate output according to the context.
AI Chat Now available as a dedicated hub under Azure Boards. From within AI Chat, you can open Copilot4DevOps directly for any work item or diagram it generates to take further action. Supports copy-pasting images into chat and sending highlighted text as context for questions. Includes bug fixes for stability and faster response handling.
Mockup Tool Updates Accepts images as references or creates mockups from them. Theme selection is removed, and it can also export mockups in PNG format.
Diagram Enhancements Added chat in the Result tab for real-time, context-aware assistance after diagram generation, with persistent knowledge of the diagram for refinement.
Elicit Enhancements Better integration of uploaded files into outputs, with clear rules on supported formats for more accurate results.
Enhanced Doc/SOP Generator More reliable document and SOP creation with better context handling from uploaded files.
Enhanced Transform Can add translated content into the existing/referenced work item.
AI Edit Formerly Magic Edit, now includes chat, allowing users to ask any questions, and is accessible from more areas in Azure DevOps like Backlog, Queries, Sprints, and Boards.
Admin Controls Separate model rankings for BYOD on/off, the private LLM test option, and centralized rewrite prompt settings.

General Enhancements and New Additions in V6

1. Improved AI Performance and Response Quality

We have significantly improved the overall performance and response quality of Copilot4DevOps. Now, it provides context-aware and accurate responses during the first try.

Key benefit:

  • Increased performance reduces the turnaround time for all AI-assisted workflows.
  • As it gives higher-quality output on the first try, you can avoid multiple trials to generate responses and save tokens.

2. File Uploads

The “File Upload” feature has now been introduced in the Mockup, Diagram, and SOP/Document Generator features. You will see the file upload icon next to the “Rewrite Prompt” icon.

This feature allows users to provide more context to AI via uploading different types of files, including .doc, .c, .java, .jpeg, .png, .bmp, .gif, etc., and get context-aware output.

Function-specific behavior of the file upload feature:

  • In Mockup: You can pass the attached file as a reference or use it to create a new, similar mockup.
  • In Diagram: Uploaded files will be treated as reference material and can’t recreate the diagram.
  • In Sop/document generator: It doesn’t support image files, and other types of files can be attached for reference.

Key benefit:

  • Adds richer context to results and simplifies file management.
  • Allows the recreation of mockups from raw design.

3. Dynamic AI Model Switching with BYOD

When BYOD mode is toggled on or off, the system instantly switches to the right AI model based on admin-defined settings.

Key benefit:

  • Delivers consistent and accurate results without manual model changes.

4. Bug Fixes

V6 addresses several issues, including home page loading errors, prompt handling glitches, and Rewrite Prompt inconsistencies.

Module-Specific Enhancements in Copilot4DevOps V6

1. AI Chat

  • Copilot4DevOps chat is added inside Azure DevOps as a dedicated hub under the Azure Boards section. When you launch AI chat from Azure DevOps, no specific work item is set as a default context.

  • For newly created work items, you can directly open Copilot4DevOps from chat and perform actions. Similarly, diagrams can be directly opened in the Diagram module of Copilot4DevOps, and you can edit them.
  • Highlight text in the chat interface, and pass it as a reference to the chat while asking a question for quick clarification.
Copilot4DevOps embedded in Azure DevOps for streamlined work item management
  • Now, you can copy/paste the image directly to the chat to use it as a context.
  • General bug fixes were made to solve internal server errors and improve chat loading time.

2. Diagram

  • We have introduced the chat feature in the Result tab of the Diagram module. Users can ask questions about diagram structure, get clarifications, and improve descriptions of the diagram.

  • Fixed general bugs, such as the “Data Not Found” error that was shown when the user opened the diagram in the new window for the first time.

3. Mockup

  • The theme selection option is removed, and Copilot will generate a theme based on the text description or uploaded image file.
  • Users can now save mockups in the PNG file format, also.
  • Fixed UI-related bugs to provide a better user experience.

4. AI Edit

  • AI Edit (Magic Edit) can be accessed directly from Azure work items, backlogs, queries, sprints, boards, etc., without launching Copilot4DevOps.
  • Introduced chat feature in AI Edit. With this, users can engage with conversational AI and update work items.

5. Transform

  • Now, users can add translated content into the HTML-type field of an existing work item. It also allows users to choose where the translated text should appear in the work item, whether at the beginning, at the end, or as a full replacement of existing content.

6. Codeless App Generation

  • Renamed from “Create No-code prototype” for a clearer understanding of its purpose.
  • Now supports launching with or without linked work items, allowing optional context embedding for better traceability during app creation.

7. Elicit, Sop/Document Generator, Q&A Assistant, Smart Prompt, and Analyze

We’ve fixed bugs to improve the user experience, performance, and overall response quality of the tool.

8. Admin Panel

  • We have introduced a “Test Configuration” option to let the admin check the connectivity of private LLM services.
  • Added AI Edit and Rewrite Prompt to the AI Model Auto Selection and Ranking panel, with separate model preferences for BYOD ON and OFF modes.

Wrapping Up

V6 of Copilot4DevOps is not just a version change; it’s a set of updates shaped around how teams actually work. Faster responses, cleaner file handling, and better control over AI behavior mean less time fixing and more time delivering.

These updates are already available in your environment, and you can give them a try.
